  • Please note: Registration is required for all programs. This applies to all PPARI Members, Non Members having dinner or not. We need to know how many will be attendance due to seating capacity. Please contact the program chairperson. Also, anyone ordering a meal and cancels within 24 hours of the program or is no show for meals, the cost of the meal will be invoiced to that person.
  • PPARI Members the cost of the program is included with your dues (unless otherwise noted), Non Members $60. A member of any other state, regional, or national photographic association the cost is $30. Programs in which there are meals, those costs are not included in the about fees.

Introduction to creating for print competition. From concept to basic creation. Instructor Judy Reinford will cover how to start the creative process to come up with ideas, how to find source images and start putting it all together into a story that will turn into your final work of art. Things discussed will be perspective, lighting, and size of each image, how these play a key role in fitting together for the final piece. She will also cover the 6 best tools to use in Photoshop for composting that will also improve your daily editing techniques for client work. People should bring the following if interested in working on techniques:


While she will be showing some basic editing techniques if you are able to come with these items please do so that you can demo along with her

Professional Photographer and Studio Owner Suzanne Merrill of Starr Photography is becoming nationally recognized for her warm, rich, and unique style of photography newborns in the New England area. Suzanne is often referred to as the “baby whisperer” and she won’t photograph a newborn without her trusty “baby kryptonite”. She loves smashing cake with her baby’s she’s watched grow over the course of the year. Beginning to end, Suzanne is extremely passionate about her happiness of her babies and her clients. Suzanne has been creating memories out of her in home  since January 2012 and opened her studio space in January 2014. Suzanne has been in front of the camera since the day she was born, so it’s fitting she has a passion to capture this life altering event in her clients’ lives. She specializes in Maternity, Newborn, and through the major milestones in your baby’s first year of life. Then celebrates that first year with a fun and whimsical Smash Cake session. Suzanne loves connecting with her clients through this art. She started to teach her “ways of the force” to others in the newborn photography world in late 2015. She is extremely involved in several online groups where she offers insight and advice from personal experiences. She offers online workshops and teaches in-person hands-on mentoring and workshop throughout the US. Suzanne has her AA and has been working with newborns since 2012. She is a member of the PPA, IAPP, and IANP, her business is licensed and insured. Suzanne is working to start a new standard for baby safety in the photography community


About her class 

      Suzanne will go over her prep guide and workflow which ensures her a successful session.  She will briefly cover how she sets up and get’s ready for her sessions as well as show you the ‘tools of the trade’.


       Suzanne will wrap up by showing us 3 different wrapping techniques which will help either add variety to your newborn session or give you a base foundation to feel confident saying “yes” to taking a newborn session.
