Message from the President, Jackie Nelson

Dear Members,

Happy Fall to you all! I haven’t been able to fully commit to not running the air conditioner, I don’t know about you guys but 79-80 degrees and sticky means my AC is ON! Lately I’ve been photographing weddings, sports leagues, some high school seniors, and underclassmen. Coming up in a few weeks I have a military ball, and a Christmas photo-shoot and some smaller jobs.

I recently brought one of my cameras to Midstate Camera Repair to have it looked at. The camera would occasionally give me an error, and then when I attempted to play the image back, it was not there. It got shipped to cannon and was analyzed. The diagnoses…shutter and battery compartment failure. The technicians that looked over the camera body said that the shutter had well over 200,000 exposures. I got a quote and decided to go ahead with the repair seeing as the camera would essentially be totally refurbished.

200,000 exposures, and that is one of three camera bodies I own. I got to thinking of all the great memories that particular camera had captured. It is a true workhorse of a camera. I’m very thankful I continue to get many happy clients who refer me, and many repeat families I have photographed for years. PPARI has many end of the year programs I hope to see you at. Invite a friend to join us! See you soon!
