Message from the President, Jackie Nelson
Hello everyone, Happy Holidays!
I’m watching our first snowfall of the season while I write this December installment. As I sit and reflect on this past year I say wow, so much has happened. Since March your team of board members has worked very hard planning our educational seminars, our Convention in March, and particularly we have focused our attention on our web presence. We have changed our social media pages, added some, extended and built others. We have essentially rebuilt our website with current up to date material, adding many more images. We have discussed new ways to grow our membership base, and how to appeal to a broader audience of photographers.
I value each of you as members, we value you as associates, we value your presence and consider each of you a part of our photographic family, and friends. I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for valuing our association and for being with us. We are currently working on the final touches of Convention 2018, and our monthly educational programs for the year. If you have something in particular you would like us to try to bring to the association for a monthly program, speak to one of the board members, we are happy to hear your feedback. Keep a close eye on your email, and our social media pages where you can always find what’s coming up next!
Please be sure to SAVE THE DATES for our March 2018 Convention. Our theme this year is “Put yourself on the map.” Here is a brief look at what’s to come.
Fri- 3/2/18 Image Competition, pizza party, image critique, and a special surprise.
Sat- 3/3/18 Rick Hydran – “Real Estate Photography”
Sat- 3/3/18 Gene Hutnak – “Keep it Simple”
Sun- 3/4/18 Melony Anderson – Business Management, Pricing, finding your inspiration. We have a new committee of folks working hard on our door prizes, sponsorships, raffle items, and silent auction items. Please plan to be with us Saturday evening for the image awards dinner. The speeches are brief, and the food is fabulous! There will also be a drawing for a scholarship to NEIPP!
As we wrap up this year, let’s reflect on what we did well this year, and grab the reins for what we would like to see change for next year. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a blessed and prosperous New Year!
Jackie

Passing of Al Audleman on December 8th
The following is from the PPANE/NEIPP FaceBook page on December 9th: The PPA and PPANE/NEIPP family lost one of it’s own yesterday. Al Audleman passed away unexpectedly, and it is a shock to us all. He was a kind, gentle, giving man, who’s passion for life and photography was evident in all he did. He taught on the state, regional and national level and 1000’s of people’s lives have been touched by him and changed for the better. Al was a friend and mentor to many of us, and will always be remembered fondly.
